ABOUT THE PHOTO:
Oh you know, just my baby girl practicing her "tippy toes" after pulling up her pants like that haha! The journaling is about some of her everyday practices :)
LAYOUT DESIGN:
I used a free layered PSD template from Cathy Zielske that she offered the other day for a sale over at Designer Digitals, that was 8.5x11. I printed it with the pink stars background paper that was a piece of digital paper from Studio Calico.
MY PROCESS/PRODUCTS USED:
Then I adhered that whole sheet to the piece of black diagonal months paper (also from Studio Calico) and added a few wood veneer/glittery embellishments from Crate Paper. It was all quite simple, and super fast, thanks to the hybrid nature of this layout!

Digitizing my word art
So I've played with word art before but hadn't yet ever printed it out yet. I wanted to use this verse I read yesterday to make a card and figured it would be a good time to try this out! Also I figured it would look better if I shrank the art down and made it tighter. Here's my original verse, painted with goache paint in Jet Black onto drawing paper (this was not even close to my first attempt):
After I got it into digital form (I just used a photo I took of it and edited it in Photoshop Elements 12), I cropped it to 4.25x5.5 inches to fit a card and printed first on white paper (will prob hang this in my scrap space or use as a bookmark) then printed it on patterned paper for a card!
Finally, I made the background transparent with the magic eraser and laid it on top of one of a piece of digital paper from Studio Calico for next month's kit! I changed the color of the brush script and really love how that turned out!
In conclusion it was really fun to do and try! Also as a side note, I took the Life Scripted class with brush script expert Kal Barteski awhile back but ended up using a slightly different technique to come up with this, as I found I want to make it closer to my own handwriting and style!

Hybrid Birthday Card
ABOUT THE PHOTO:
This photo of Natalie paired perfectly with the card sentiment I wanted to give to her Grandma! Natalie had just eaten some pickled vegetable roots that Chris bought... and she loved them! She kept asking for more, but still kept making that face after each bite haha!
CARD DESIGN:
I used a layered template by Shanna Noel for Studio Calico that was offered a few months ago.
MY PROCESS/PRODUCTS USED:
I changed the color from blue to a lime green by changing the hue (Chris picked the color). Then I added some extra text using the font used in the template, which was called Permanent Marker and printed it on glossy photo paper. Finally, I just added some black stars from the Studio Calico Cuppa kit from last year.

Be the Love
Here's another hybrid layout I made with a template that's part of the newest Studio Calico class, Life Scripted with Kal Barteski! I can't wait for the class to get started in February!
I had a few pictures of Natalie rolling over onto her stomach and one of her getting tired out - I didn't print them correctly, so they came out a little darker, but how awesome is that Photo Black! It looks like I painted on top!
Chris and I have a million different nicknames for Natalie, so I just filled in a few and repeated them for the background. I added some black stars that came in one of last month's kits from Studio Calico, and kept it simple!

Good Stuff!
Back with another 12x12 layout, taking a break from December Daily prep to get back to my true love haha! And this makes for reason #500 that I should try to do DD prep in advance - so I can take random breaks from it and work on my regular layouts without getting behind on it!
Anyway, this is from end of September when we went to Cobblestone farm - a local farm, to pick out our pumpkins on a warm fall day! We also picked up some local vegetables while we were there and they had the sweetest concord grapes we've ever tasted!
This layout came together very quickly, especially since it only uses paper and digital printables from the Antiquary kit by Studio Calico! I used the OfficeMax Impress printing services to print out my printables on 80# Gloss cover card stock (nice and thick with a slight shine) and cut them out by hand! While I was at it, I also got my printables for DD all printed out - and it was so cheap and came out beautifully! I love using their service instead of my crapper printer and paper to get these printed out! And one final note: this makes my 10th layout with Antiquary, yay for using up supplies!!
