Congrats Wedding card

ABOUT THIS CARD: I made this card for my cousin who lives in Indiana and got married in Florida!! We ended up missing out on the wedding because of our needy 10 month old baby, but it looked like they had a blast!

PRODUCTS/PROCESS: First and foremost, I bought this digital stamp brush USA map from Studio Calico and stamped at 2500px, printed it, and cut it out! I added some gold hearts to the two states and adhered to a piece of card stock from last year's Double Scoop kit. I kept it simple and just added the Kal Barteski letter thickers from the Amy Tangerine Plus One collection by American Crafts!

I love how this card turned out, and love that I got to use that digital brush stamp file right away!

New Baby cards!

While my passion isn't making cards, I enjoy making cards for new babies because I can always center it around the baby's name - and that has so much meaning for all moms (and dads)! So here are a couple of new baby cards I've made recently - one for a boy and one for a girl :)

This first one was made for a girl (obviously) and I wanted to include her middle name because it has extra special meaning to her parent's. I really wanted her name to stand out, so I was thinking I wanted to use my brush script technique to do so.

To make it stand out more, I first wrote "Jesus loves" over and over again on the background. It was actually a blessing to write this and just think about that phrase - Jesus loves, over and over again! Then I painted on top with jet black goache paint. I had taken Kal Barteski's Life Scripted class at Studio Calico a few months ago. This wasn't my best version of her name, but I only had one shot at the final product!

For this next card, it ended up taking about 15 minutes to do! I chose those letter thickers from Amy Tangerine's Plus One collection (a collaboration with Kal Barteski as well) and then decided to use papers from the same collection. When I opened my 6x6 pad of paper, I saw that I had leftover cut out pieces from this layout I created back in January and the lightbulb went off!

I adhered the papers coming off the card at an angle, then just trimmed the excess. I also had some leftover black stars from the Cuppa kit by Studio Calico laying out on my table and decided those would go perfectly and "sprinkled" them and adhered them (almost) wherever they landed. Quick and easy and the only people that would know I borrowed the design from a previous layout are you readers :)

Mommy & Me

Our first workday at home together was awesome - Natalie slept 2 hours in the morning and got the day off right! She had some tummy time and practice rolling around on the floor, ate some foods around 11am, and got out for a lovely walk at lunch! She was in a great mood and didn't cry once! It was the perfect first day together!

I used a sketch template for this month from the SimpleScrapper.com but had some trouble deciding what papers to use and after having adhered most of my grid down onto white grid paper, I cut it up and re-adhered to the green background. That is my style - patterned background paper... try as I might to use plain card stock, and I always struggle to make it look complete to me!

I added some of the Amy Tangerine Plus One puffy stickers and some older wood veneer birds and called it a day!

6 Months

A couple pictures on the day Natalie turned 6 months old :)

I was in a creative slump, so I scraplifted this layout by Gillian Nelson for Studio Calico pretty closely!

I also used the letter stickers from Amy Tangerine's Plus One collection in addition to the Sugar Rush kit by Studio Calico.

Seriously

Stop it with the faces! These two girls are so fun and wild and crazy!

I used the background piece of paper from the PrintShop collection by Shanna Noel for Studio Calico and embellished with the new Amy Tangerine Plus One collection for American Crafts! I really love the foam phrases, and I loved that typewriter sticker, so glad I got to use it!!

This wasn't my favorite layout, but after adding the black foam hearts and "xo." sentiment in the lower right, as per suggestion by Natalie's Nanny - it is really growing on me! It definitely needed that little extra boost!

Mia Famiglia

I finished this layout this morning while Natalie napped (extra long) and unexpectedly on my day off! Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

I already had the little windows cut out from the piece of paper from the Printshop collection by Shanna Noel but wasn't really sure what to do from there. I was planning to back each little window with small pieces of paper, but was feeling like that would take too long, so used another sheet of paper from the same collection to back.

I embellished with Amy Tangerine's Plus One collection. Love these pictures of "mia famiglia" hehe :)

Love You

Let me start off by saying, this photo is a much bigger deal than meets the eye... GG, Natalie's grandma (aka someone NOT me), was able to feed her a little cereal last week! Omigoodness, someone else can finally feed this 5 month old little beast!! She finally didn't cry as soon as anyone else in the family looked at her that wasn't me or Chris too. It seems she has turned a corner... hoping this lasts for awhile anyway!

Onto the layout - I was totally inspired by Nicole Samuels' Starting Points blog (here) this week, to use a mosaic! Her blog entry couldn't have come at a better time because I bought some of the Plus One collection by Amy Tangerine for early release at TwoPeasInABucket.com but they still haven't released any 12x12 papers, so I was looking for ideas where I could use the 6x6 papers!

So I decided to start with the heart diecut, and then add punches outward. This was really fun to put together! I made them more dense near the heart and gradually less dense as it fanned out. It looked cool and it saved me from having to punch a gazillion stars, plus with all the color, it helped give some space for your eyes to rest. I love the brush script foam letter thickers! I just added a label and sticker at the top right to balance out the page! Thanks for stopping by!

Oh my darling

This picture was too funny not to make a layout for! Natalie needs to see her Mama's face to calm down haha!

I really liked how this layout by CharissaM on Studio Calico used the digital templates by Shanna Noel, so I lifted the design to make my own chevrons!

This is also my first layout with the new Amy Tangerine Plus One collection!! I was so excited to dig into this latest collection, inspired no doubt, by Amy's baby boy Jack, who is about a month younger than Natalie!
