December Daily 2012 - Cover and Day 1!!

Hello and welcome to December... Daily!! Yesterday I was so excited to finally get started on this project, I woke up around 4am and ended up getting some work done so I could really get started at 8am!!

OK, here is my album, but my cover is INCOMPLETE right now:

But I am taking the 25 Days online class with Maggie Holmes at Studio Calico, and after getting the first lesson yesterday, I was inspired to finally dig in and attempt SOMETHING for the cover! You can't tell, but I sprayed it first in Mister Huey's Calico Shine - then added those embellishments. I used a combination of ATG gun tape, glue dots, and my secret adhesive weapon: glossy accents, to really get it all to stick down! That stuff is NOT coming off I tell you!

I wasn't planning on doing a front page, before getting into each day's story, but again, was inspired by Maggie and printed up this file (free with the class) onto photo paper with my Canon Selphy CP800 - had to convert the file format to get it to print. I adhered this to a chipboard page that I used my Prima White chalk ink to chalk around the edges... I just wonder when that will fully dry.

Any finally my first December Daily layout - DAY 1!!

I used Ali Edwards digital overlays for the first picture and I don't own Photoshop - YES I used good ole Microsoft Paint! I had to do some converting, some configuring, some "fill brush" and some sizing... and it turned out not bad!

So... I made Chris wait to get our tree till December 1st so I could scrap getting our tree as the first layout. I'm thinking, we'll have these professional looking photos of us smiling and happily picking out our tree... WRONG! Our tree was SOOO beyond crooked, so Chris had to drag it back to the garage to saw after forever trying to get it to work in the stand... yeah, the tree was NOT gently placed in the garage HAHA!! I will leave it at that ;)

OK so since I did NOTHING for foundation pages this year (this is obviously my first year doing December Daily), I hope I don't get behind... but last night around 11:30pm when Chris was heading to bed, he stopped in my room and saw I wasn't finished and I said, "...I'm already behind!" HAHA, not quite but yeah, I didn't finish Day 1 till around midnight. I now see the importance of working on foundation pages!

  3. I love what you've done so far! Funny tree story to remember for many years through your December Daily! I didn't do my foundation pages this time either, I was waiting for ink to come in the mail and it just arrived tonight! We can all be behind together :)
