Sam Patch Packet Boat Tour!

OK, so here is the next page with some more pics from our day down at the Erie Canal last summer to take the Sam Patch Packet Boat Tour from Schoen Place in Pittsford, NY! I just loved that they sold duck feed there to feed all the canal ducks! The tour itself was cool because you get to go up and down a lock! I've never done that before, and it was pretty amazing - it actually fills up and empties extremely quickly! We had a wonderful day and finished it off by eating on the patio at Aladdin's overlooking the canal!

I was inspired by a layout from Kelly Purkey's Sketchpad class by Cindy Tobey! I just love all the recent thickers that American Crafts has come out with and that were part of the Neverland kit from Studio Calico! I made the word "boat" in all caps to change it up a little bit and also helped that I didn't use up all the lowercase stickers.

I used my Silhouette to cut out some stars (from a cut file from the Cut It Out class by Studio Calico) from Kraft paper from the Amy Tangerine Yes Please line - and just added around where needed. I randomly had some Heidi Swapp stuff out, and saw that the Discover sticker matched my paper exactly!

Added some badges from Studio Calico, the dimensional sticker in the upper left from Amy Tangerine Yes Please, and some journaling! Oh and love that background paper from Crate Paper!! This makes 5 layouts in one weekend at home!! The most productive weekend at home ever, thanks to my husband Chris who let me scrap all weekend while he cleaned the house!!

  1. I would love to go here with my family. I am sure my kids would enjoy feeding the ducks since they really love to observe and interact with animals. They really enjoyed our corryvreckan whirlpool trip last month so this might be included in the list.

    1. Yes, feeding the ducks with your kids would be really fun! I hope someday my little girl will want to do that with me :) Schoen Place, in Pittsford, is a great place to walk around and grab a bite to eat as well! Thanks for your comment!
